UNC Basketball Officially Announces 2025-26 Roster

by

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. โ€” North Carolina officially announced its 16-man roster for the 2025-26 season on Thursday.

The team features three returning players โ€” including Seth Trimble, who enters his fourth year with the Tar Heels โ€” three freshmen, six transfers, an overseas signee (Luka Bogavac) and three walk-ons.

Davis put out a brief statement along with the teamโ€™s announcement, giving credit to Trimble for returning for his fourth season at UNC. Trimble was a member of Davisโ€™ first recruiting class at North Carolina.

โ€œI am very excited about this upcoming season and this yearโ€™s team, led by Seth Trimble,โ€ Davis said in the statement. โ€œIn college basketballโ€™s current state, Carolina has been fortunate to have multiple accomplished veteran players choose to stay at UNC. Players like Leaky Black, Armando Bacot, RJ Davis, and now Seth Trimble are difference makers for us. Going into the summer, we wanted to get bigger and more versatile to give us the ability to be better on both ends of the floor, and I believe weโ€™ve done that.โ€

UNC opens the regular season at home against Central Arkansas on Nov. 3 at home. The team will then complete its home-and-home agreement with Kansas on Nov. 7 when the Jayhawks come to town.

UNC will stay in Chapel Hill for home games against Radford (Nov. 11), North Carolina Central (Nov. 14) and Navy (Nov. 18). The team will then head to Florida for the Skechers Fort Myers Tip-Off, where it will play St. Bonaventure on Nov. 25 and Michigan State on Nov. 27.

North Carolinaโ€™s ACC-SEC Challenge opponent this season will be the Kentucky Wildcats, and the two teams will face off on Dec. 2 in Lexington. After that, UNC will return to the Smith Center for a three-game home stretch against Georgetown (Dec. 7), USC Upstate (Dec. 13) and ETSU (Dec. 16). Up next is North Carolinaโ€™s annual CBS Sports Classic game on Dec. 20, in which the team will play Ohio State.

North Carolina will round out its non-conference schedule against East Carolina at home on Dec. 22.
