Major New Player Rumored in Potential TNA Sale Talks

by

TNA Wrestling could be in for some serious news.

Speculation about a possible TNA Wrestling sale took a turn this week when former UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta’s name came up in internal discussions

Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that sources say Lorenzo’s name emerged during meetings, and Conrad Thompson fueled the buzz by posting a “Lorenzo!” GIF in response to the chatter.

“Another interesting connections are rumors of former UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta possibly being involved. We’re told that his name emerged from meetings this week, and earlier Conrad Thompson posted an ominous GIF saying “Lorenzo!” We’re told that was in response to rumors going around in wrestling that Lorenzo Fertitta could….for some reason be involved in a rumored sale of TNA.”

Lorenzo Fertitta once co-owned UFC with his brother Frank and worked for decades alongside Dana White. He is connected to TKO Group Holdings, which is the parent company of WWE and UFC. His possible involvement adds a new twist to ongoing talks about TNA’s future, including media rights negotiations and long-standing interest from potential buyers.

TNA has been on the market before, with Scott D’Amore attempting to buy the company and Tony Khan declining offers both before AEW launched and again later. A source also reportedly said AEW saw little value in acquiring TNA due to much of its legacy footage already being in the Ring of Honor library.

Recent network speculation has included The CW and A&E, both of which air WWE programming and have ties to TKO. WWE has broadcast deals with multiple networks and platforms, with some content moving to ESPN in 2025, the same year UFC content is set to shift to Paramount/CBS.

While there’s no confirmation of his role, the link between Lorenzo Fertitta and TKO has fans and industry insiders watching closely to see if the UFC veteran could play a part in the next chapter of TNA. Odds are, the pro wrestling world will continue to be even more unpredictable, especially with so much change going on.
