WWE is hitting pause on the Crown Jewel Championship storyline—at least for this year.
According to a new report from BodySlam.net, WWE has no current plans to feature Crown Jewel Championship defenses at the 2025 Crown Jewel Premium Live Event, set for October 11th at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. While the show is expected to feature top-tier matches and major Superstars, the special titles introduced last year are being left off the table.
The Crown Jewel Championships made their debut at last year’s event, with Cody Rhodes defeating GUNTHER to become the first-ever men’s Crown Jewel Champion. Liv Morgan followed suit by beating Nia Jax to become the inaugural women’s titleholder. Both Rhodes and Morgan were already titleholders at the time, with Rhodes holding the WWE Championship and Morgan reigning as Women’s World Champion.
Fans hoping the tradition would continue in 2025 are bound to be disappointed. “The idea right now is that the Crown Jewel Championships will not be defended at this year’s Crown Jewel Premium Live event,” the report stated.
While the belts may not be on the line, WWE is still expected to deliver a stacked card in Perth. But for those invested in the exclusive Crown Jewel titles, this development feels like a missed opportunity.
