Tony Khan didn’t let it slide. Instead of firing off a rant, he kept it short and sarcastic—dropping a GIF of Star Trek’s Captain Jean-Luc Picard saying: “That will be the day.”
Clearly unfazed, Khan gave a sassy shrug at the notion AEW is anywhere near shutting its doors. The timing of the exchange is notable, as WWE continues booking major Premium Live Events directly against AEW programming. Most recently, WWE scheduled another big show to go head-to-head with AEW All Out—a move many see as intentional.
But if Tony Khan’s reply says anything, it’s that he’s still swinging. He’s not backing down—and he’s more than happy to troll doubters who think WWE’s pressure will fold AEW.
