England batter Adam Hose suffered an injury during the match between Trent Rockets and Southern Brave in The Hundred 2025 on Saturday, August 16. The 32-year-old dislocated his right ankle while fielding at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, forcing him to leave the field and be taken to the hospital.

Trent Rockets, led by David Willey, secured a four-wicket win over Southern Brave in The Hundred. The Rockets moved to joint-top of the men’s Hundred table with Oval Invincibles and Northern Superchargers. Meanwhile, the Brave dropped to fourth but still remain in contention for a knockout berth.

Adam Hose picked up a severe injury in the first innings against Southern Brave. The incident took place on the 81st ball of the Southern Brave innings. Hose slipped awkwardly while attempting to cut off a boundary near deep mid-wicket from Michael Bracewell.

The match was halted for nearly ten minutes as teammates, medics, and ground staff rushed to his aid. With concerns that the injury could be serious, an ambulance was brought onto the field to provide immediate care.

The 32-year-old was taken to the hospital, where scans confirmed he had dislocated his right ankle. The injury left fans and players alike concerned for his recovery.

The extent of his absence will depend on upcoming scans, which will also reveal whether surgery is necessary. Worcestershire, Hose’s county side, released a statement wishing him a speedy recovery, while fans also shared their support on social media.

“We wish him a speedy recovery and will provide further updates in due course,” Worcestershire County Cricket Club said in a statement.

The incident occurred when Southern Brave were 107 for 3, with Michael Bracewell and James Coles at the crease. Southern Brave scored 140 runs for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 100 balls. Leus du Plooy was the top scorer, with 55 runs off 34 balls, including four boundaries and as many sixes.

Trent Rockets Secure Victory After Adam Hose Injury

Trent Rockets overcame the loss of Adam Hose to clinch the win. Chasing 141, the Rockets collapsed to 60-4, with Joe Root falling cheaply. Tom Moores and Tom Banton rescued the innings.

Moores, drafted in as a late replacement wicketkeeper, scored 55 off 30 balls, including five sixes and four fours. Banton added 49 from 38 in a 76-run stand with Moores that shifted control back to the home side.

Both batters departed in quick succession, but Marcus Stoinis, who had earlier taken two wickets, wrapped up the contest in style by smashing the winning six with four deliveries to spare. The Rockets remain serious contenders for the knockout stages.
