Tight end Bauer Sharp was a highly-touted addition to LSU’s roster following the 2024 season and he’s living up to the hype thus far in fall camp.
“I think he brings a mindset to our practice,” offensive coordinator Joe Sloan said. “I think he brings a mindset to our offense. And I think our guys feed off of that. And that’s what I think has been critical. He plays hard every snap.”

With Kyren Lacey and Mason Taylor no longer a part of the Tigers’ roster, LSU needed new passing game threats to emerge for quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. It appears Sharp cemented himself as a weapon in the passing game and a consistent blocker in the run game.
“He’s going to give you everything he’s got,” Sloan said. “And I think that’s a physicality of violence in a run game. Then also, you know, he’s twitchy at the top of routes. He’s been able to get separation. And he’s a really good ball carrier with the football, you know, once he catches it. So he’s been an awesome addition. Couldn’t be more excited about him.”
Sharp caught 42 passes for 324 yards, a team-best, in 2024 at Oklahoma. He came to Baton Rouge as part of the nation’s top transfer portal class alongside fellow former Sooner wide receiver Nic Anderson.
