With the Globl Tournament in the books, Longhorns women’s basketball can turn its attention to the 2025-2026 campaign. However, they will be coming back to Austin with some new hardware after an impressive run. The Longhorns finished the tournament with a 3-1 record, earning a silver medal.

After starting the tournament with a 3-0 record, Texas lost to Team Canada on Sunday in a 72-65 defeat. In the Longhorns’ loss, Rori Harmon scored ten points and dished out nine assists. Madison Booker also shined with 11 points and six rebounds.

For the majority of the games, Texas was able to keep the game closer. However, in the second half, Team Canada ended the third quarter on a 6-0 run. They continued to build on their lead by scoring the first five points of the fourth quarter. That gave Team Canada a lead they would not relinquish.

In the tournament, Texas was able to record wins over Team Puerto and Team Brazil. They also showed great team chemistry despite many new faces, which has only raised expectations for the 2025-2026 campaign. Last season the Longhorns made it to the Final Four and are looking to make another deep title run.

When the Longhorns do return to the court they are expected to be one of the best teams in the SEC after shining on the global stage.
