Fresh off his spectacular knockout over Geoff Neal at UFC 319, Carlos Prates discusses his latest win and calling his shot to fight at the upcoming UFC Rio card in October.
Immediately after his win, Prates called for a showdown against ex-UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards but Michael “Venom” Page wasted no time raising his hand as a volunteer for that fight after he picked up a win over Jared Cannonier this past Saturday. While Page has been competing at middleweight, he’s always planned on eventually returning to 170 pounds and he seems very interested in a potential matchup against Prates.
Prates admits his preference is still Edwards because of his standing in the division but if the UFC offers him Page, he certainly won’t pass on that opportunity.
“If the UFC gives me him, that’s OK,” Prates said. “Let’s fight.”
