Angel Reese is finally ready to make her return.
The Chicago Sky star will play in their matchup with the Seattle Storm at Wintrust Arena on Tuesday night, the team confirmed shortly before tipoff. Reese hasn’t played in several weeks while dealing with a back injury, and she’ll be on a minutes restriction.
“I want to hoop,” she said before the game, via the Chicago Sun Times. “I’m just happy to be out here to play the game I love.”

Both Reese and the Sky didn’t elaborate much on her injury or recovery over the seven games that she missed. Reese declined to speak on that on Tuesday, either, saying that she’d address it at the end of the year. She missed two road trips and one home game recovering, too.
“Put all the bulls**t to the side, I wanna hoop,” she said.
Reese entered the night averaging 14.2 points and 12.6 rebounds per game this season. She’s not played since the team’s loss to the Washington Mystics on July 29. She had 22 points and 13 rebounds in that contest.
“She’s a fighter, and we feed off of that,” head coach Tyler Marsh said.
The Sky have won just a single game without Reese and are entering their matchup with the Sky with one of the worst records in the league. They hold just an 8-25 record, which is better than only the Connecticut Sun. They’ve been all-but eliminated from postseason contention, too.

The Storm are also in a rough stretch. They’ve lost seven of their last eight and hold a 17-18 record this season.
