WATCH: NASCAR’s Chase Briscoe after Cup Series win at Pocono
Briscoe had to hold off the track’s all-time wins leader in Denny Hamlin to secure the victory.
After moving NASCAR weekend at Pocono Raceway from July to June, race fans will need to plan their trip to Long Pond a week earlier.
It was announced that the NASCAR Cup Series race at the Tricky Triangle will take place on Sunday, June 14, 2026, a week earlier than its June 22 date in 2025.
The date isn’t anything new to the track as president Ben May and the raceway staff have hosted races in the middle of June, but it will be interesting to see how the team moves accordingly after a successful showing in late June for its most recent weekend.
“I love anything after mid-June,” May told the Pocono Record before the 2025 race weekend. “We did early June for a long, long, long time, and it was a tight fit. Then you get deep into August, and kids go back to school. So, there’s really about six weeks where we fit. We’d like to be in the same window going forward.”
No CRAFTSMAN Truck Series at Pocono in 2026
Additionally, there are some major changes to the schedule leading up to the Cup Series race next summer. Instead of the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series in its usual Friday spot, it will be the ARCA Menards Series on June 12.
Pocono Raceway included a statement on the Truck Series in its press release.
“A scheduling conflict led to the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series being unavailable for the 2026 weekend, but Pocono Raceway expects to welcome the series back in 2027.”
NASCAR’s secondary series changes sponsors
Starting in 2026, what is now known as the Xfinity Series will soon be known as the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. NASCAR announced the multiyear partnership on August 18.
That said, the second-tier NASCAR racing series will return to Pocono on Saturday, June 13.
