The details around one of the most highly anticipated boxing matches in years continue to unfold.
Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford will fight Sept. 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas under the TKO Boxing banner, promoted in part by UFC CEO Dana White. So it should come as little surprise that there will be crossover from typical UFC broadcasts to the boxing ring.
The event will stream on Netflix as part of subscribers’ plans.
Check out the on-air talent lineup announced by Netflix on Friday:
Jon Anik
Anik, the lead play-by-play voice for the UFC, will lead the fight broadcast.
Max Kellerman
Longtime sportscaster is best known for his boxing commentary. The former ESPN personality will cross over to Netflix for the first time.
Andre Ward
Former super middleweight and light heavyweight champion, as well as 2004 Olympic gold medalist, retired undefeated. The Boxing Hall of Famer will be the co-lead analyst.
Michael Buffer
Regarded as the best boxing intro voice in history, the guy who gets paid hundreds of thousands of dollars a year for his trademarked “Let’s get ready to rumble” catchphrase will introduce the fighters in the main event.
Joe Martinez
Martinez is a longtime combat sports in-ring and in-cage announcer who regularly works UFC events when lead announcer Bruce Buffer isn’t working. In this case, he’ll be the undercard, of sorts, to Bruce’s half-brother Michael.
Heidi Androl
Regular UFC roving reporter and host regularly covers boxing outside her MMA role.
Jim Gray
All-time great sportscaster has worked multiple Super Bowls, World Series, Olympics, NBA Finals, The Masters golf tournament and more than 1,000 major boxing title fights.
Skipper Kelp
Former fighter and longtime combat sports coach and trainer will be called on to give coaching insights into the fight.
Mario Lopez
Former “Saved By the Bell” teen star (A.C. Slater, don’t ya remember, Preppy?) and regular TV host recently has attempted some crossover into combat sports hosting roles. He’ll be the desk host for the broadcast.
Mark Kriegel
Longtime boxing writer and commentator will be on the desk as an analyst.
Antonio Tarver
Former light heavyweight champion will serve as a desk analyst for the broadcast.
Mike Coppinger
Former ESPN boxing journalist joined The Ring Magazine after it was purchased by Turki Alalshikh, who is co-promoting the Canelo-Crawford fight.
