INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Fever will be without Chloe Bibby for Friday’s game vs. the Minnesota Lynx.
The 6-foot forward has been dealing with “a little bit of soreness” in her left knee and “felt something pregame,” coach Stephanie White said, so the team is holding her out as a precaution. “We don’t know anything, so hopefully we’ll get more information tomorrow when she can be seen.”

Bibby signed a seven-day contract with the Fever in late July, then was inked to a rest-of-season deal on Aug. 1. She is averaging 3.9 points in 9.8 minute through nine games with Indiana.
Bibby was expected to play a bigger role Friday vs. Minnesota Lynx with Sophie Cunningham out for the season (MCL). The injury leaves the Fever with nine available players, including just one wing: Lexie Hull.
Filling in at wing will be done by committee, White said, with Brianna Turner, who can guard five positions, seeing extended minutes defensively.
“We have to try and manipulate lineups a little bit more to find out who can stretch the floor,” White continued. “So, (Turner) will probably be on the floor a the same time as DD (Damiris Dantas) in a lot of things we do. But again, if it’s not going to be spacing the floor in the half-court, we have to be able to get our defense to create some offensive transition opportunities. That doesn’t always have to be steals for scores, but we have to get missed shots that allow us to get out, run out and try to create some things in transition.”

Fever GM Amber Cox told IndyStar Fever Insider Chloe Peterson the team plans to sign a wing following Friday’s game.
Indiana is not eligible for a third hardship addition until Cunningham misses a game.
The Minnesota Lynx will also be short-handed for Friday’s contest with Naphessa Collier officially ruled out with an ankle injury. The WNBA All-Star, who participated in warm-ups, has not played since Aug. 2.
