Triple Olympic Champion Tom Dean Set For Switch To Stirling
Triple Olympic champion Tom Dean is to switch training bases to Stirling where he’ll join Duncan Scott and Jack McMillan after seven years of working with Dave McNulty at Bath.
Dean won the 200 free at Tokyo 2021 in a British 1-2 with Scott as well as claiming gold with the 4×2 relay squad, with the quartet repeating that feat in an historic victory in Paris three years later. The 25-year-old has also won world, European and Commonwealth titles during his time with McNulty.
Now he is set to move to Scotland where Brad Hay and Ben Higson lead the coaching staff. The announcement comes less than three weeks after the conclusion of the World Championships in Singapore where Dean swam the prelims of the 4×2 before the British quartet went on to victory.
Dean posted on social media, saying: “After seven incredible years, my time at Bath has come to an end. I want to thank the whole team and all my teammates for their support over the years. Most importantly I want to thank my coach Dave who has always been so much more than a coach to me. Together, we achieved more than I ever thought possible.
“I’m looking forward to starting a new chapter at the Stirling Training Centre next month as we gear towards Los Angeles 2028.”
