The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 rolled on with another entertaining contest as Saint Lucia Kings and Trinbago Knight Riders locked horns in Match 10 at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium. Kieron Pollard powers Trinbago Knight Riders to an imposing total

Batting first after being sent in, TKR posted 183/7 in 20 overs. Colin Munro (43 off 30) provided the initial thrust before Nicholas Pooran chipped in with 34 off 30. However, it was Kieron Pollard who stole the show, smashing 65 runs off just 29 balls, studded with 4 fours and 6 towering sixes. McKenny Clarke added late fireworks with 12 off 3 balls. For Saint Lucia, Roston Chase (1/23) and Tabraiz Shamsi (1/21) were the pick of the bowlers, while Keon Gaston also chipped in with two wickets.

Saint Lucia Kings fall short despite strong top order

In response, Saint Lucia Kings fought hard but finished at 165/6 in their 20 overs. Johnson Charles anchored the chase with a composed 47 off 37, while Tim Seifert (35 off 24) played a breezy knock at the top. Contributions from Delano Potgieter (24 off 21) and a quick cameo from Ackeem Auguste (20 off 9) kept hopes alive, but the Kings struggled to maintain momentum during the middle overs.

The Knight Riders’ bowling attack held their nerve in the death overs. Usman Tariq (2/20) impressed with his accuracy, while Andre Russell (2/38) and Mohammad Amir (1/32) ensured Saint Lucia never got close to the target. Sunil Narine also bowled economically, conceding just 29 runs in his four overs.

Pollard’s explosive innings was the difference-maker, earning him the Player of the Match award. His power-hitting shifted the momentum in Trinbago’s favor and ultimately defined the contest.
