Scottie Scheffler: I'm not satisfied with where I'm at

by

During every PGA Tour event, Scottie Scheffler is one of the favorites. The 29-year-old American holds the bar so high that the public expects nothing but tournament wins from him. However, it is unrealistic to expect you to be that dominant, no matter how great a golfer you are or even the world number 1.

Scheffler, playing in the last PGA Tour event, the Tour Championship, finished in fourth place with a total score of 14 strokes under par.

He suffered a slight decline during the latter stages of the tournament, while Tommy Fleetwood managed to withstand pressure from all sides and reach his first PGA Tour victory.

Still, his season was great, considering the victories in two Majors and other important tournaments, showing that he is still a golfer who commands the golf scene.

After a great season last year, some were skeptical whether the American could repeat the same success.

At the beginning of the year, he had a minor crisis, but mid-season he seemed to kick into high gear and then we could see the real Scheffler; the kind we could see in the 2024 season.

" Yeah, I think after a year like '24, I think sometimes people's expectations and stuff of me can change. For me, nothing really changes. I'm not satisfied with where I'm at. I'm always trying to get a little bit better. I think that's just part of the game. I think that's what I love about golf is you're always trying to get a little bit better.

I feel like this year I improved my putting from last year, and that was really the one area of the game that I've been working quite hard on. Phil and I have been doing a lot of stuff, and it's nice to get some good results from that. Yeah, that's the reason I was able to win some more tournaments this year.."- he said.

Scheffler as an example for others

His mindset and hunger for success can be felt in his every sentence. Although Scheffler wants to be as far away from the lights, cameras and pressures coming from all sides as possible, when you are such an important figure in the world of golf, it's hard not to be in the spotlight.

However, even when he is in the center of attention, he knows how to deal with journalists and criticism that comes from both the public and analysts and experts. He is truly an example of mindset playing a key role, and it seems he could be just as dominant a figure next year.
