Former India National Cricket Team batsman Manoj Tiwary has launched a vicious attack on head coach Gautam Gambhir and labelled him as a hypocrite.
Manoj Tiwary discussed the old remarks of Gautam Gambhir on the India-Pakistan clash and questioned him for being the head coach of the team that is set to lock horns with the Men In Green.
The Indian government gives clearance for the India-Pakistan Asia Cup clash
Tensions between India and Pakistan hit a peak in April-May 2025, following a deadly terrorist attack on Indian tourists in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025.

India launched Operation Sindoor, a major military operation, on May 7, 2025, in retaliation, and this led to the two countries aggressively exchanging missile strikes.
After four days of intense conflict, on May 10, 2025, a ceasefire was agreed upon, but due to the tensions, there was a big question mark over the Asia Cup 2025.
However, the competition is all set to go ahead and will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28. The Indian government has also allowed the Men in Blue to face Pakistan in the multi-nation competition.
India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group and can face off against each other for a maximum of three times, with the first clash on Sunday, September 14.
I always felt that he’s someone who is a hypocrite – Manoj Tiwary
Manoj Tiwary and Gautam Gambhir don’t share a good relationship, and the former has time and again launched brutal verbal attacks on the India head coach.
In the latest one, he talked about Gautam Gambhir’s remarks, where he said that India should strictly avoid playing any international matches against Pakistan until the cross-border terrorism stops.
Manoj Tiwary said that Gautam Gambhir should resign from his post as India’s head coach and stay firm on his stance of not playing against Pakistan.
“I always felt that he’s someone who is a hypocrite. He’s a hypocrite because he’s the one who said that India, when he was not the coach of Team India, said that India and Pakistan should never play a match between them. What will he do now? He’s the coach of the team that’s going to play Pakistan in the Asia Cup,” Tiwary told CrickTracker.
“Why can’t he just resign and say that I will not be part of the team India because you are playing with Pakistan?” he added.
So, I always felt that he’s a hypocrite – Manoj Tiwary
Tiwary further spoke about the old remarks of Gautam Gambhir that went viral, where he was seen backing Yashasvi Jaiswal‘s selection in the T20I squad.
He highlighted how Gautam Gambhir has kept Yashasvi Jaiswal out of India’s Asia Cup 2025 squad despite earlier demanding his place in the setup.
“He’s the one who said that Yashasvi Jaiswal is one of the players who is the future of Team India, and also he’s someone who will not be kept outside T20. He should not be kept outside T20. He should be given a longer run. And now, he’s not there in the team,” said Tiwary.
“So, a lot of things apart from these couple of statements where he said, and he has just done the opposite. So, I always felt that he’s a hypocrite, and he’s always been a hypocrite,” he added.
