UFC 319 super slow-motion knockout, submission highlights from Chicago

Fans were treated to seven “Windy City” stoppages after lengthy UFC absence

The UFC hadn’t been to Chicago in more than six years when it finally pulled back into the “Windy City” earlier this month. And by and large, if fans had been starved for some highlights, they got what they came for.

The middleweight title was on the line at UFC 319 at United Center on Aug. 16, and champion Dricus Du Plessis was the betting underdog against unbeaten challenger Khamzat Chimaev. Quickly into the fight, Chimaev showed not only why he was favored, but that he may even have been underestimated.

Chimaev dominated the champ to take the title with a trio of 50-44 scores. And while that impressive performance closed the night, there were two insane elbow knockouts in a row leading up to that – and those in particular are the kinds of things the UFC’s “Fight Motion” super slo-mo cameras excel at.

Check out the UFC 319 “Fight Motion” highlights above, including the utterly ridiculous bonus-winning elbow KOs from Lerone Murphy in the co-main event and Carlos Prates right before that.
