No. 18 Tennessee will face Syracuse to open its 2025 college football season Saturday. Rankings reflect the US LBM Coaches Poll.
Kickoff is slated for noon EDT at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. ABC will televise the matchup.

Saturday will mark the fourth time for the Vols and Orange to face each other. The all-time series dates to 1966. Tennessee is 3-0 in its three previous contests. Saturday’s game will also mark the third time the schools will open a season.
The two teams last played on Sept. 1, 2001. Tennessee defeated Syracuse, 33-9, at Neyland Stadium.
Tennessee and Syracuse first played on on Dec. 31, 1966 in the Gator Bowl. The Vols were victorious, 18-12, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Tennessee also won on Sept 5, 1998 with the Vols winning, 34-33, at Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York. Kicker Jeff Hall converted a 27-yard field goal on the final play of the game.
