Michigan State basketball junior Coen Carr continues to jump out of people’s screens before the Spartans’ season even begins.
MSU basketball recently shared a video of their players’ vertical jumps during a preseason practice, and the most impressive jump unsurprisingly came from Carr, who has made a habit of posting highlight-reel in-game dunks for MSU.

In the video the Spartans posted, the vertical jump tester is placed right next to a hoop and you can see just how insane Carr’s hops are as his elbow is well above the 10-foot rim.

Carr, who is listed at 6 feet 5 but looks like he can nearly reach the top of the backboard, is entering his third year with the program. He played in a team-high 37 regular-season games for the Spartans in the 2024-25 season, putting up 8.1 points and 3.6 rebounds per game as MSU advanced to the Elite Eight.
Earlier in May, Carr made headlines for shattering the backboard and breaking the rim on a dunk in a pickup game, something rarely seen in modern basketball.

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo has praised Carr, saying ahead of the 2025 NCAA Tournament: “…if he continues to improve, he’s going to be a star, not just a great player.”
