Prior to Wednesday’s series finale vs. Kansas City, the Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Luis Robert Jr. on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain and recalled outfielder Will Robertson from Triple-A Charlotte.
“We MRI’d him and it was a Grade 2 strain,” said general manager Chris Getz. “What comes with that is several weeks. We don’t know precisely, at this point of the year, time is not necessarily a friend with players returning. So there is a chance that perhaps he doesn’t make it back by the end of the year.”
Robert Jr., 28, is hitting .223/.297/.364 (14-53) with 14 home runs, 53 RBI, 52 runs scored and 33 stolen bases in 110 games this season. He is batting .298/.352/.456 (34-114) in the second half and has joined Minnie Miñoso, Ray Durham and Alexei Ramírez as the only players in White Sox history to record 100 career home runs and 100 stolen bases.
Robertson, 27, is hitting .289/.387/.571 (87-301) with 21 doubles, 20 home runs, 60 RBI and 58 runs scored in 89 games between Triple-A Buffalo and Charlotte in 2025. He also has appeared in four games over two stints with the White Sox since being acquired from Toronto on July 10.
