After Alabama football canceled its home-and-home with West Virginia in 2026 and 2027, the Crimson Tide added a date against East Carolina for the 2026 season.
According to the game contract between Alabama and East Carolina acquired by The Tuscaloosa News, the Pirates will received $1.5 million for its road game in Tuscaloosa, scheduled for Sept. 5, 2026.

The game contract between Alabama and East Carolina was dated Aug. 21, 2025.
East Carolina is Alabama’s third nonconference game scheduled in 2026 along with South Florida on Sept. 12 and Florida State on Sept. 19.
Ohio State is the only nonconference game scheduled for Alabama in 2027.
Starting in 2026, Alabama will play nine SEC games. The SEC mandated all conference teams schedule at least one nonconference game against a team from the ACC, Big Ten or Big 12, or Notre Dame.
