Absent AEW Star Returns During December 17 Dynamite Taping in Manchester

MJF is officially back — and he just shook up AEW’s main event scene in a big way.

During the December 17 tapings of AEW Dynamite in the United Kingdom, MJF officially made his return, interrupting the contract signing between Samoa Joe, “Hangman” Adam Page, and Swerve Strickland to insert himself into the AEW World Title picture in the most MJF way possible.

The Salt of the Earth crashed the segment and cashed in his Casino Gauntlet contract, signing the dotted line to make the AEW World Championship match at World’s End a fatal four-way.

MJF hadn’t been seen on AEW television since his shocking loss to Mark Briscoe at All Out 2025. Many fans speculated he was taking time off to focus on movie commitments — and those rumors were recently confirmed by Wrestling Observer Live’s Bryan Alvarez.

“I can’t say 1000% that MJF is going to be in that match, but I mean, MJF’s going to be in that match,” Alvarez said last week when discussing the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal.”

Instead, MJF made an even bigger statement — showing up unannounced, cutting off three of AEW’s top stars, and securing himself a chance to reclaim the top prize in the company. With World’s End approaching, AEW’s main event scene just got flipped upside down — and if anyone knows how to thrive in chaos, it’s MJF.

Do you think MJF is walking out of World’s End as AEW World Champion again? Or did he just make a huge mistake stepping into the fire with Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland and Hangman Page? Sound off in the comments and let us know who you’re backing.
