Aerial Powers Reacts to Caitlin Clark Joining NBC as Special Contributor

by

Caitlin Clark opted not to play competitive basketball this WNBA offseason despite reported interest from the 3-on-3 league Unrivaled. The Indiana Fever star suffered a groin injury in July and a bone bruise while recovering, so it was not surprising that she has been cautious with her activities.

Clark, who played just 13 games in 2025 and averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists, did participate in the USA training camp in preparation for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup. Aside from that, however, she has largely focused on training and other off-court activities.

While Clark is not competing in any basketball league this WNBA offseason, that doesn’t mean fans won’t see her much. In fact, it’s the opposite, as the Fever guard has some projects lined up.

On Tuesday, NBC announced that Clark will be joining the network’s broadcast of two NBA games. The two-time All-Star will serve as a special contributor for Sunday’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks, as well as the March 29 showdown between the Knicks and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

After the Fever shared the news about Clark’s new role, her fellow teammates and fans quickly expressed their excitement.

Fever guard Aerial Powers was among those to react immediately. On Indiana’s post, she commented, “Oh we love this!!” while tagging Clark.

Powers joined the Fever in August 2025 via a hardship contract following the injuries to Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald. She impressed Indiana and earned a rest-of-season deal.

Powers developed a close friendship with Clark. After their season ended, the veteran guard even thanked Clark for making her feel welcome on the team.
