AEW Dynamite Results (1/21/2026): Live Match Updates and Highlights
The show opens up with commentary welcoming us and Taz making his way down to the commentary desk.
Tony Schiavone is in the ring and he introduces AEW World Champion MJF. MJF’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. MJF starts off by telling Schiavone to shut his triple-chined mouth and he disrespects the fans in attendance. MJF then hypes himself up. MJF then gloats about being the AEW World Champion. MJF then says the AEW World Title cost more than most fans can make in their lifetime. MJF then calls himself professional wrestling among other things.
Brody King’s music then hits and he interrupts MJF. King starts off by saying he wants to hurt MJF after what he did to Bandido last week. King then says he wants to rip MJF’s spine out, but he will not do it because MJF is just a b***h. This then gets a chant in response as King talks about not putting his hands on MJF because it would cost him what he really wants, which is a shot at MJF and the title right now and tonight.
MJF then offers to think this over before saying no and not because he’s afraid of King. The fans then bark along with King and MJF says it reminds him of the phrase “all bark and no bite.” MJF then says King doesn’t have grounds to challenge after only facing “tomato cans, jabronis, and jobbers” and he tells King he needs to beat elite talent before he can step up to the champ or else they are gonna have problems. King then manages to intimidate MJF, forcing him to pivot as he claims he has a lot of business to deal with tonight before leaving the ring.
We cut to a video package highlighting last week’s Maximum Carnage before heading backstage. We then see “Hangman” Adam Page and JetSpeed in a backstage segment. All three men are hyped up for their respective matches. Page says Mike Bailey can beat Samoa Joe if he can stick to his quick pace and strong suits.
Samoa Joe then makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night and Mike Bailey follows.
Singles Match: The Opps’ Samoa Joe vs. JetSpeed’s “Speedball” Mike Bailey
The match starts off with both men locking up and Joe takes Bailey to the corner. Bailey then fights back, using his speed to take Joe off his game with a flurry of strikes before sending him to the outside but Joe intercepts a dive with a hard chop sending Bailey down hard. Bailey is struggling as Joe brings him up to his feet, but Bailey turns it around to hit an Asai moonsault. He then brings Joe back into the ring as The Opps come down the ramp. Bailey then pays them little mind as he slides into the ring, only for Joe to send him over the top rope and to the floor distracting the referee as his stablemates lay into Bailey with stomps before sending him back in the ring. Joe then continues the attack, only to send Bailey right back out.
Joe is still in control until Bailey dodges him in the corner, hitting a dropkick for a two count. Joe then fights back, but is met with another kick as Bailey heads up top for a shooting star press and it only gets a near fall as Joe kicks out. Joe then rolls toward the apron for a breather, but Bailey takes the fight to him before breaking free of a suplex to sweep Joe’s legs out from under him. Joe then lands on the apron, but dodges a knee drop from Bailey before rolling back in the ring. As the referee checks on him, Shibata gets an opening to beat Bailey down with a suplex onto the apron before sending him back into the ring for more punishment from Joe.
Joe then continues to wear Bailey down, focused on the legs as he mocks Bailey. Joe then lays in a few more kicks before Bailey checks in with the referee before Joe locks in a leg hook until Bailey gets to the ropes for a break. Bailey then struggles to his feet as Joe goes back after him, only for Bailey to hit Joe with a crane kick. Shooting star knee drop then gets Bailey a two count. Bailey is in the corner and he hits a spinning kick. HOOK then distracts Bailey long enough to stop an Ultima Weapon, but counters a Coquina Clutch into a near fall of his own. He then goes back up top, but is distracted by Shibata this time as the referee is dealing with HOOK and this allows Joe to hit a Muscle Buster for the win.
The winner of the Singles Match, The Opps’ Samoa Joe!
After the match, Joe celebrates as commentary hypes up the lineup of tonight’s show.
We then head to the back, where we see that MJF is keeping a close eye on Joe’s win.

Moxley then briefly attacks Archer, but Archer puts Moxley down.
Marina Shafir then enters the ring and confronts Archer. Archer then tries to chokeslam Shafir, but she applies an armbar. Shafir then holds on to Archer’s leg and Moxley hits a cutter. Archer then ends up on the table in the corner as Moxley charges at him, but Archer counters and he spins Moxley around before driving him through the table with a running powerslam. After some back-and-forth, Yuta and Garcia apply submission moves on Hechicero and Romero. Moxley then hits a double DDT on Romero and Hechicero. Moxley then sets up a table with barbed wires and glass on it. Moxley then gets chokeslammed on it by Archer. Archer then goes for a pinfall, but Yuta and Garcia breaks it up.
After some scuffle, Archer looks to chokeslam Yuta from the entrance ramp, but PAC makes his way out on crutches and attacks Archer. Castagnoli also joins in and they take down Archer. Garcia then applies the Dragon Tamer on Romero as Moxley stomps on Romero. Garcia then wrenches on his submission move, resulting in Romero passing out and the referee calls for the bell.

FTR then retreats to the opposite side, but this allows Price to tag back in.
Harwood then tags in to go after him before Price and Oliver take him off his game allowing for a near fall by Oliver. Harwood then hits Oliver with a right hand before taking out Price and he sends Jordan to the corner.
