AEW Star Injured During July 19 Collision Tapings

by

AEW’s Collision tapings on July 17 in Chicago may have taken a serious turn the $200,000 Four-Way Tag Team Match.

Ringside News’ correspondent at the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom sent word that Colten Gunn appeared to suffer a right knee injury during the tag match featuring Big Bill & Bryan Keith, The Gunns, Gates of Agony, and CRU. In the image captured ringside, Gunn is seen being helped to the back, clearly in pain and favoring his leg while surrounded by crew and talent.

The match continued without him, but the injury didn’t go unnoticed with concern as Gunn was escorted away. There’s been no official word yet from AEW on his status.

Colten and his brother Austin Gunn have been pivotal in AEW’s tag team division, and this setback could arrive at the worst possible time. AEW is currently in the middle of a multi-week Chicago residency, running through July 31, and this match—set to air this Saturday, July 19 on Collision—was meant to be one of the standout contests in the stretch.

Ringside News will keep you updated as more information becomes available on Colten Gunn’s condition and what this might mean for The Gunns moving forward.

Do you think this injury changes AEW’s tag division plans? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know if you think The Gunns can bounce back.
