Edwards is one of the top recruits in Alabama’s class and is the second-best safety recruit in the nation, per Rivals.
Some teams were still trying to poach Edwards even after he committed to Alabama, but he put an end to that on Saturday, telling Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett that his recruitment is closed. He won’t be flipping to another school before national signing day.
“No such thing as an open Recruitment when you’re HOME!” Edwards told Fawcett.
Edwards goes to St. Frances Academy in Maryland and is the third-best recruit in his home state, per 247Sports composite rankings. He is also the No. 33 overall recruit in the country.

Edwards wants to be at Alabama and play for head coach Kalen DeBoer, who has amassed one of the best recruiting classes in the country for 2026. The 2025 season will be a big one for DeBoer after only winning nine games in his first season last year.
DeBoer wants the Crimson Tide to get back to contending for national titles after a disappointing 2024 season. Alabama’s first test of this year will be in two weeks on August 30 when the program travels to Tallahassee to take on Florida State. It’ll be a fun ACC-SEC matchup to start the year.

Kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
