On Saturday night, the Alabama Crimson Tide rolled to an impressive 37-20 home win over the rival Tennessee Vols.
In the win, many of Alabama’s prominent playmakers throughout the season made key impacts on both sides of the ball once again, while there were also a few others who emerged Saturday night, a big reason as to why the Crimson Tide eventually won.

An overall impressive performance, who are some players that are now seeing their stocks’ rise following Week 8?
Let’s take a look at three players in particular who impressed against Tennessee, as well as what that performance included.
Yhonzae Pierre, Outside Linebacker, Redshirt Sophomore

Saturday night was likely the most impressive performance in the Alabama career of redshirt sophomore Yhonzae Pierre, who continues to quickly emerge as one of the better pass rushers in the SEC. Pierre finished the game with three sacks and three TFL, while also racking up six total tackles, five of which were solo.

Ty Simpson, Quarterback, Redshirt Junior

Simpson continues to emerge as a potential favorite to claim the Heisman Trophy, with the reason as to why being performances weekly similar to what the redshirt junior did against Tennessee. In all, Simpson completed 19-of-29 passes for 253 yards with two touchdowns and an impressive 89.0 QBR, while also rushing for eight yards on five attempts.
Zabien Brown, Cornerback, Sophomore
Lastly, it’s hard to mention Saturday’s win over Tennessee, and not talk about the impact that Brown, a sophomore cornerback, made. Tied for the team-lead with seven total tackles, three of which were solo, Brown made one of the biggest plays in the game right before halftime, intercepting a pass at the goal line which he ran back for a 99-yard touchdown.
