An energized Carlos Alcaraz edged rival Jannik Sinner in todays’ lucrative Korean exhibition.

World No. 1 Alcaraz posted a 7-5, 7-6(6) victory before about 15,000 fans at Incheon’s Inspire Arena.

“I had so much fun these days,” Alcaraz said. “The energy, the support, the energy here just the first few days has been really crazy, which I really appreciate.

“I’m really grateful for that. How I was treated here was like a home and I just appreciate it. So everything that made this match against Jannik possible, I want to say thank you for that…I really want to come here and experience the love from Korea so I just want to say thank you for that.

“Jannik, we finished the season playing together, we started the season playing together so hopefully this season is going to be such a good one like last year. You deserve the best. All the best for Australia….Hopefully see you on Sundays.”

Alcaraz and Sinner squared off in an Open Era-record three consecutive major finals last season.

On this day, both men were big winners.

The pair each earned €2,000,000 in Korea, which is about $2.33 Million dollars, according to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport.
