Alessandro Costa didn’t have the best luck at Noche UFC.
On top of falling short against debutant Alden Coria in the preliminary portion of the card, Costa suffered a nasty foot injury and left San Antonio with some stitches in between his toes. Costa, who lost by third-round TKO, got his big toe caught in the fence and ripped the flesh between his toes on his left foot.
Costa told MMA Junkie he immediately felt it, and was seen on the broadcast looking down at his foot multiple times towards the end of Round 3. At the start of Round 3, Costa’s movement was clearly impaired. He tried shooting for a takedown, but then leaned on the fence once he couldn’t get it. He was stopped shortly after.

Costa was hoping to get a win in his return to the octagon. He hadn’t fought in over a year, entering Noche UFC. His last bout prior to Saturday was a TKO win against Peru’s Kevin Borjas in May 2024. The Brazilian was out for a while due to a knee injury that required surgery. He’s expected to get a doctor’s opinion on a potential return in two or three weeks once the cut heals a little more.
