Alex Pereira calls out Jon Jones for UFC’s White House event

by

Jon Jones wants it, and now Alex Pereira does, too.

On Tuesday, Pereira (13-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC) called for a White House clash vs. Jones (28-1 MMA, 22-1 UFC) in an Instagram post with influencer Nina Drama. Pereira kept his callout direct, succinct, and to the point.

“Jon Jones. White House. Chama,” Pereira said in a video.

Currently, the White House card does not have any known fights, though many fighters have advocated to be on it. UFC CEO Dana White has recently said planning has not even begun in terms of specific athletes. Logistic configuring, however, is well underway with renderings already released for the event that’s expected to take place June 14.

Currently, the UFC only has two United States-born champions: Kayla Harrison and Mackenzie Dern. There are not any sure-thing next title challengers who are Americans, either.

Jones, who does not hold a title after his brief retirement from the sport, could provide a rare level of star power to the event despite his lack of championship status.
