Alexander Zverev gives huge anticipation about his future with Toni Nadal

by

After disappointing expectations at both Roland Garros and the Wimbledon Championships, Alexander Zverev went to Rafael Nadal's academy in Manacor and practiced there for more than a week under the watchful eye of his uncle Toni. This news generated a wave of speculation among insiders and former players, according to which the German ace would need a new coach to turn his career around.

The champion from Hamburg is number 3 in the world and certainly cannot complain analyzing his career, considering that he has won several Masters 1000, the ATP Finals, the gold medal at the Olympics and was close to climbing to the top of the ATP ranking. In addition, thanks to his win over Matteo Arnaldi at the Toronto Masters 1000, Sascha became the first player born in the 1990s to have won 500 matches on the ATP tour. A very prestigious milestone, which certifies Alexander's constancy at the highest level while waiting to finally break the curse in Grand Slam tournaments.

Latest update on Zverev

In the press conference before the start of the Canadian Open, the former world number 2 specified that Toni Nadal already has too many commitments and will not be able to follow him in the various tournaments in the second half of this season.

However – during the latest episode of the 'Nothing Major' podcast – Zverev gave a further update on his potential collaboration with Toni: "I loved the days we spent with him and I think Toni enjoyed it too. I also spent a lot of time together with Rafa, who was really nice at all times. I don't think you'll see Toni with me in the second half of this year because he already has a very busy schedule, but you could see him more starting next season."

Despite being one of the best exponents of his generation, Sascha is missing a Major title and the clear defeat against Jannik Sinner in the final of the 2025 Australian Open caused a crisis from which he has not fully recovered.
