In addition, thanks to his win over Matteo Arnaldi at the Toronto Masters 1000, Sascha became the first player born in the 1990s to have won 500 matches on the ATP tour. In the press conference before the start of the Canadian Open, the former world number 2 specified that Toni Nadal already has too many commitments and will not be able to follow him in the various tournaments in the second half of this season.
However – during the latest episode of the 'Nothing Major' podcast – Zverev gave a further update on his potential collaboration with Toni: "I loved the days we spent with him and I think Toni enjoyed it too. I also spent a lot of time together with Rafa, who was really nice at all times. I don't think you'll see Toni with me in the second half of this year because he already has a very busy schedule, but you could see him more starting next season."
Despite being one of the best exponents of his generation, Sascha is missing a Major title and the clear defeat against Jannik Sinner in the final of the 2025 Australian Open caused a crisis from which he has not fully recovered.
