Neenah High School alum Allie Ziebell had a career night for the undefeated University of Connecticut women’s basketball team, draining a school-record 10 three-pointers as the Huskies pummeled Xavier, 97-39, on Wednesday night, Jan. 28.
Ziebell, a sophomore, finished with a career-best 34 points, setting the school record for points off the bench.

“The number [of threes] isn’t as impressive to me as watching her play with so much confidence,” UConn coach Geno Auriemma said after the game. “That’s the Allie I saw play in high school. That’s the Allie I saw play every summer. That’s the kid we recruited and why we recruited her.”
UConn guard Allie Ziebell tied a school record with 10 three-pointers on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026.
Ziebell finished 11-of-15 shooting overall and 10-of-14 from deep, with three assists and two steals. The 6-foot guard averages 7.5 points per game this season and obliterated her previous career high of 17 points.
Her double-digit triples tied the single-game school mark set by three other players: Maya Moore in 2009, Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis in 2014 and Katie Lou Samuelson in 2017.
UConn moved to 22-0 overall this season and 12-0 in the Big East. The No. 1 Huskies played without starting center Serah Williams, a former University of Wisconsin star, and freshman phenom Blanca Quiñonez.

Ziebell is one of two Wisconsin high-school alums on the Huskies, along with Germantown’s KK Arnold, a regular starter who averages 7.0 points per game. Both won the Wisconsin “Miss Basketball” title as seniors – Arnold in 2023 and Ziebell in 2024.
“I had absolutely no idea [I had the record]. I didn’t really know until Coach said it after the game,” Ziebell said afterward. “When you’re shooting and they’re going in, you just know you’re in that rhythm.”
