Angel Reese had quite an eventful second season with the Chicago Sky. She once again dominated on the court, averaging a double-double of 14.7 points and 12.6 rebounds, along with 3.7 assists per game.
Not only did she lead the league in rebounds per game, but she also made history with the two highest single-season rebounding averages in WNBA history. In the previous year, Reese also led the league in rebounding with 13.1 boards per contest.

However, it wasn’t all positive for Reese, as she missed the last four games of the 2025 season due to suspension and injury.
The Sky forward was sidelined for a Sept. 5 matchup against the Indiana Fever after she was suspended for accumulating eight technical fouls. In the next game against the Las Vegas Aces, she was supposed to be suspended for just the first half due to the “detrimental” comments she made about Chicago, but she ended up missing the whole contest due to a back injury.
The same health issue forced her to miss the team’s last two games against the Aces and the New York Liberty. Reese last played on Sept. 3, as Chicago failed to make the playoffs with a 10-34 record.

Reese has kept herself busy this WNBA offseason — from doing her podcast, working out and becoming a Victoria’s Secret Angel — but since it has been nearly two months since she played competitive basketball, she can’t help but miss the game. The 23-year-old said as much in a post she made on social media.
“ugh i miss hoops!” Reese wrote.
With the NBA season in full swing, it’s not surprising that Reese feels like playing basketball again even though they just finished another grueling campaign.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the superstar forward is going to play competitively any time soon. Many hoped Reese would return for the second season of Unrivaled — the 3-on-3 basketball league founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart — but that’s not the case at all.
On Thursday, Unrivaled revealed its final three players for the second season, with Reese not included. Reese won the inaugural championship of the league with her Rose BC team.
