Las Vegas Aces, led by A’ja Wilson, swept the Mercury for their third championship in four years.

Reese’s WNBA Finals post sparked debate about her future with the Chicago Sky.
Angel Reese’s second season with the Chicago Sky did not exactly go according to plan. Despite being named an All-Star for a second straight season behind averages of 14.7 points, a league-best 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game, Reese was unable to lead the Sky to a spot in the WNBA playoffs. In fact, Chicago finished the season with a 10-34 standing, tied with the Dallas Wings for the worst record in the entire league.
Reese and the Sky will hope for a better performance in 2026, but for now, she has no other choice but to be a spectator for the WNBA Finals matchup between the Las Vegas Aces and the Phoenix Mercury.

Four-time league MVP A’ja Wilson led the Aces to a Game 4 victory on Friday night, 97-86. The seven-time All-Star dropped a game-high 31 points on 7-of-21 shooting and 17-of-19 from the charity stripe, to go along with nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and three blocks.
The Mercury proved no match to the Aces, who managed to sweep their opponents 4-0 en route to winning their third championship in four years. Unsurprisingly, Wilson was named Finals MVP.

Reese was not in attendance for the Game 4 showdown at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix. However, the former LSU Tigers star posted on social media during the game about the WNBA Finals. In her three-word post on X, the 23-year-old expressed her hope of one day taking part in the finals herself.
“manifesting the finals>>>,” Reese wrote.
Reese’s post caused quite a stir on social media. More than a few fans responded that she should leave Chicago if she’s serious about pursuing her dream of one day stepping onto the WNBA Finals stage.

“If that’s what you’re manifesting, then you are definitely going to need to move on because as long as Marsh and Jeff are still there, you’re just manifesting another disastrous season. Dallas looks promising,” a comment on X read.
“Gotta get traded to the aces” another said.
“You gotta get out of Chicago first sis,” a user posted.
Others, however, rallied behind Reese’s cause in a more positive light.
“We’ll be there soon my 🐐” a reaction read.
“Everything you manifest comes to be girl! Go ahead!! I’ll be sketching,” said another.

“You in the finals next year 🙌🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻” declared a fan.
It’s worth noting that Reese’s season ended on a sour note after the Sky punished her for comments deemed detrimental to the team. In a September interview, Reese suggested she would leave Chicago if her objectives no longer aligned with the team’s. This did not sit well with the Sky front office, who decided to bench their star for one half.
Reese apologized for her statement and acknowledged she was in the wrong. However, her fans were not pleased with how the Sky handled the situation, leading to calls for the team to trade her.

After signing a four-year, $324,383 rookie deal with the Sky last year, Reese is under contract with the team through 2027.
