Aquinas 2026 WR Jack Rhodes, Virginia football commit, leaves door open with Georgia visit

by

Over the weekend, 2026 Aquinas high school receiver and Virginia football commit Jack Rhodes took a visit to the University of Georgia where he met with staff on the team and watched the Bulldogs’ 43-35 win over Ole Miss.

The three-star prospect committed to Virginia in late July after having been previously committed to Navy. But despite that commitment, Rhodes isn’t shying away from having conversations with other schools with interest.

“I’m committed to Virginia, but I’m still listening to what [teams] have to say,” Rhodes said. “I’ll just see what happens [and] where it takes me. Keep building the relationship with the coaches there and just see what they have to say, listen to them, and if it feels like Georgia’s the right decision, then that’s what I’ll do.”

Georgia has yet to offer Rhodes a scholarship. The two parties though have had constant communication for quite a while, with Rhodes saying that the Bulldogs are “still evaluating” when it comes to a potential offer. The receiver also went on a visit to Georgia Tech earlier in October.

Attending Georgia has been Rhodes’ dream since he was a child. He said that after his latest visit, which was his second time visiting the Bulldogs, it only reassured that feeling for him. Between the atmosphere, the local food in Athens, and of course the football being played, it isn’t hard for him to imagine a life where he’s suiting up in the red and black for Georgia.

“That was my favorite team growing up,” Rhodes said. “I could definitely possibly see myself there.”

Rhodes is currently up to 834 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns during his senior campaign at Aquinas. His total for receiving yards is good for ninth in the state of Georgia. Additionally, he’s been playing quarterback recently due to an injury to the Fightin’ Irish’s starter Turner Stevenson. At quarterback, Rhodes has averaged nearly 200 passing yards and has thrown for three touchdowns and rushed for a pair over his last two games.
