The first meeting of the home-and-home series between Arkansas and Michigan State has been set for Nov. 8, the university announced on Wednesday.

It was first reported earlier in the summer that the series between the two storied programs would occur and it is now official as the first game will be played at Breslin Center in East Lansing, Michigan, and Arkansas will host the Spartans next season at Bud Walton Arena.

It will be just the third ever meeting between the Hogs and Spartans and this time will feature a showdown between Hall of Fame coaches in Arkansas’ John Calipari and Michigan State’s Tom Izzo.

Arkansas and Michigan State first met in 1991 in the Maui Classic championship game where the second-ranked Hogs lost to the Spartans 86-71. The Spartans also beat Arkansas four years later in the Great Eight Tournament at The Palace in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

While Michigan State owns a 2-0 all-time record over Arkansas, Calipari owns the slight 3-2 adavantage over Izzo that includes an even 2-2 mark during Calipari’s time and Kentucky and a 1-0 lead while he coached the Memphis Tigers.

Arkansas will also face notable non-conference opponents inlacing Duke on Nov. 27 in Chicago, Louisville on Dec. 3 in the SEC/ACC Challenge, plus neutral games against Texas Tech (Dec. 13 in Dallas) and Houston (Dec. 20 in Brooklyn).
