LAS VEGAS – Ateba Gautier met the media Saturday after his win over Andrey Pulyaev at UFC 324.
Gautier (10-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC) outworked Pulyaev (10-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) for a unanimous decision on the prelims at T-Mobile Arena. Gautier was the second biggest favorite on the card at 10-1 odds.

Gautier came into the fight with eight knockouts in his nine wins, and only had to go out of the second round once – for a split decision loss 3.5 years ago. But Pulyaev defied the odds to take him the distance.
Gautier, from Cameroon, said he will try to take some positives out of the decision win – such as proving to people he can go the distance and survive some adversity.
“It was a good experience. I usually go for one round,” Gautier said at his post-fight news conference. “When I fight, it’s not like I (only) train for one round, but it winds up happening in the first round. … So now I proved I have the gas tank to go for 15 minutes. I’m happy to show them, ‘Shut the f*ck up. I can go for 15 minutes.'”
