ATP ace confirms Carlos Alcaraz reached his peak at the 2025 US Open

by

Carlos Alcaraz's 2025 season has not only been characterized by impressive peaks, but also by a continuity that the Spanish ace had never had before. The 22-year-old from Murcia seems to have solved his main weakness by finally gaining regularity, which is why he was able to end the year at the top of the ATP rankings for the second time in his young career.

He embellished his 2025 by winning his second Roland Garros final, prevailing over his huge rival Jannik Sinner at the end of a truly epic final where he canceled three match points. Although the 2025 edition of the French Open gave him enormous satisfaction, Carlitos himself confessed that the US Open was the most brilliant tournament he has ever played.

Alcaraz won 71 matches in 2025

The world No.1 won the last Major of the season for the second time in his career, losing only one set during his amazing run (against Jannik Sinner in the final) and was really consistent in all the matches played in New York.

One of the opponents Alcaraz beat at Flushing Meadows was Italian player Mattia Bellucci, who was literally demolished by the Spaniard in the second round. Carlos unleashed a performance bordering on perfection on the iconic Arthur Ashe Stadium leaving only four games to his rival.

In a recent interview, Bellucci admitted that Alcaraz was really on fire that day: “There wasn’t a single aspect where I felt on par with Alcaraz. I didn’t know how to win points, how to stay in the game. Against other ‘big’ players, I felt closer tennis-wise, but against Alcaraz I thought ‘I don’t know what to do’. In those days, he was playing fantastic tennis.”

The six-time Grand Slam champion was also quite brilliant in the last part of the season, the least suited to his game, lifting the trophy at the Tokyo ATP 500 and reaching the final at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin for the first time ever.
