Auburn basketball to play exhibition vs. Oklahoma State: How it impacts 2025-26 schedule

by

AUBURN — The Auburn basketball team will return to Birmingham for a second nonconference matchup during the 2025-26 calendar, though the stakes will look a little different than the Tigers’ last trip to The Magic City.

Auburn will square off with Big 12 foe Oklahoma State at 7 p.m. CT Oct. 15 in an exhibition at Birmingham’s Boutwell Auditorium, the school announced Wednesday. It’ll be one of three games in an exhibition slate with Alabama A&M and Samford men’s basketball. Alabama and Florida State women’s basketball also square off at Boutwell within the week.

The last time the Tigers played in Birmingham, they took down then-No. 15 Purdue 87-69 in a 2024-25 nonconference matchup at Legacy Arena. They’ll also face Houston in a nonconference matchup this season on Nov. 16 at Legacy Arena.

“Basketball is alive and well in the state,“ Auburn associate head coach Steven Pearl said in a release. “The facility is unbelievable. We’re excited to be a part of such a great event. Excited about the matchup with Oklahoma State. They’re in a very similar position to us. They return one person from last year.”
