The next recruiting cycle has begun, and Auburn football is working to land one of the state’s top EDGE rushers.
Cam Pritchett, a 2027 EDGE from Thompson High School in Alabaster, announced his commitment to Oregon over the summer, but many programs are hoping to change his mind before signing day next December. In a recent interview with Rivals, Pritchett said that his commitment remains strong for Oregon despite the departure of defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi to California.

“Things are still good with Oregon,” Pritchett said in an interview with Rivals. “Coach Tosh Lupoi is leaving for Cal, but I have all the trust in Coach Dan Lanning, so my commitment is still pretty locked in. They are playing great football, I talk to Coach Kamran Araghi every week, and I still feel good about my decision.”
Auburn joins LSU, Tennessee, and Florida State as programs working to flip Pritchett. Pritchett tells Rivals that he feels the work newly hired head coach Alex Golesh is putting in is a “good change” for the program, and that he plans to take an official visit to the Plains before signing day in December of next year.
Pritchett is the No. 8 player from Alabama for the 2027 cycle, and is the No. 26 defensive lineman from the class. Auburn has had plenty of recent success recruiting Thompson High School as players such as Kaleb Harris, Anquon Fegans, and Jared Smith have all contributed to Auburn’s defensive efforts over the last several seasons.
