No. 9 Texas A&M will host the Auburn Tigers this Saturday afternoon, as the Aggies return to Kyle Field two weeks after defeating Notre Dame 41-40 in South Bend, which will either prove to me a fluke or the momentum boost the program needs to make a run in the SEC.
While it was just a one-game sample, Texas A&M’s passing offense has taken a significant step behind starting quarterback Marcel Reed, who threw for 360 yards and two touchdowns. In comparison, transfer wide receiver Mario Craver’s 207 receiving yards weren’t just impressive, but were the most yards by an Aggie wideout since Mike Evans went over the 200-yard mark during his final season with the program.

Still, Texas A&M’s defense struggled to prevent explosive plays through the air and on the ground against Notre Dame, and with elite wide receivers Cam Coleman and Eric Singelton coming to town, coach Mike Elko, who is now calling defensive plays, has his work cut out for him.
However, on Tuesday, it was revealed by On3’s Pete Nakos that Auburn starting cornerback Jay Crawford is questionable to play this weekend, which would provide a significant boost to Texas A&M’s wide receiver rotation, especially Mario Craver and KC Concepcion. While Auburn’s defense as a whole has been solid, the Tigers’ secondary has allowed over 230 passing yards per contest, ranked 90th nationally.
As they say, speed kills, and Texas A&M’s 2025 wide receiver room is built on speed and quickness.
