Australia Playing XI vs India- 3rd ODI, India Tour of Australia 2025:

Openers: Mitchell Marsh (c), Travis Head

Australia would eye a win in the final game of the three-match ODI series that the team is currently involved in against India.

For that to happen, the Kangaroos will have to put on a strong performance in all three departments, be it with bat, ball, or in the field.

The Mitchell Marsh-led side started the series with a much-needed win in the first game after a rather disappointing run in the last year or so, after winning the 2023 ODI World Cup held in India.

Kangaroos would back themselves to come good in the third ODI and gain momentum for the T20I series, which will succeed the ODIs between the two teams.

The onus will be on the Australian openers to get the team off to a solid start and provide a platform for the middle-order batters to increase the team’s chances of posting an above-par total on the board while batting first.

Along with the team, both Marsh and Head will want to get runs individually as well to end the series with runs under their belt.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Matthew Short, Alex Caery (wk), Matthew Renshaw, Cooper Connolly, Mitchell Owen

The opening duo will be followed by a middle order that, although short on experience when it comes to the ODI format of the game but can turn the match in the team’s favor.

The likes of Alex Carey, who was back in the playing XI for the second ODI, Matthew Short, and Matthew Renshaw will be entrusted to control things in the middle phase of the innings.

Along with the trio, the focus will be on Cooper Connolly and Mitchell Owen to have a good outing with the bat.

As is the case in any format of the game, the majority of the runs will have to be scored by the top five batters.

Bowlers: Mitchell Starc, Xavier Bartlett, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood

Australia has a potent bowling attack which comprises of good blend of youth and experience with the presence of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Xavier Bartlett, and Adam Zampa.

The captain and management would want their bowlers to come up with a good performance in all phases of the Indian batting innings.

The fast bowling department will be handled by Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Xavier Bartlett, with Starc and Hazlewood expected to take the new ball and Bartlett coming in as first change.

Adam Zampa will be the only specialist spinner in the team who will be assisted by Matthew Shot and Cooper Connolly.

The only concern for the hosts before the final game and has been since the last couple of years would be the fifth bowler’s quota, which will be completed by Matthew Shot, Cooper Connolly, and Mitchell Owen.
