Strong Start in Morgan Hill
Ayden Tan of SRVA made headlines again at the Long Course Far Western Age Group Championships in Morgan Hill. The San Ramon Valley Aquatics standout sprinted to a 24.95 in the boys’ 11–12 final of the 50-meter freestyle. Pending ratification, that time lowers the National Age Group record of 24.98, which was set in 2017 by Ronald Dalmacio.
This latest swim capped another dominant weekend for the Northern California sprinter.
Notably, this sprint adds to a growing list of standout performances across multiple events and strokes this summer.

Looking Ahead—and Across the Pool Deck
With this meet behind him, Tan now turns the page to late-summer racing and his upcoming age group transition. Given his consistency across distances and strokes, he remains one of the most-watched swimmers in the country.
Meanwhile, his younger sister Kyra Tan also turned in a perfect weekend. She won all eight events she entered in the 9–10 age group, including personal bests of 57.79 in the 100 free and 27.31 in the 50 fly. Together, they’re part of a talented family of swimmers that includes older sister Mikayla and Cal swimmer Zachary Tan.
