Kenny Omega’s brutal main event loss to Swerve Strickland wasn’t just the end of AEW Dynamite — it may have been the end of his immediate road to Revolution.
Following Strickland’s violent post-match attack on the February 18, 2026 episode of AEW Dynamite, a new report has shed light on Omega’s status heading into AEW’s next pay-per-view. According to Fightful Select, Omega is not currently scheduled to wrestle at AEW Revolution due to pre-existing scheduling conflicts.
“Kenny Omega vs. Swerve Strickland is in the books, and Kenny Omega has some scheduling conflicts for the future.”
The report notes that Omega informed AEW about the conflict months ago, which is why the high-profile match with Strickland was moved to the February 18 Dynamite instead of taking place at the pay-per-view.
“Omega took on Swerve Strickland on AEW Dynamite, but will not be wrestling at the upcoming Revolution PPV for AEW. We’re told that he informed AEW of the scheduling conflict a number of months ago, which is why the match ended up on the February 18 Dynamite.”
While Omega isn’t currently planned to compete at Revolution, the door isn’t completely closed.
“We’re told that Kenny Omega is possible for an appearance at AEW Revolution, but as of today he isn’t planned to wrestle.”
The timing is notable. Omega was left laid out after Strickland wrapped a chain around his throat and drove him through the announce table in a shocking post-match assault. With Revolution approaching, fans may have expected a rematch or escalation — but that now appears unlikely inside the ring.
If Omega does appear, it would likely be in a non-wrestling capacity, at least as things stand today. Ringside News will keep you updated if any additional information regarding Kenny Omega’s status changes.
With Omega off the Revolution card for now, does this leave the door wide open for Swerve Strickland to take over the spotlight? Drop your thoughts below and let us know how you think AEW should handle this situation.
