Basingstoke Golf Club Gears Up for a Landmark Year – Golf News

Basingstoke Golf Club in Hampshire is moving into 2026 with momentum, milestones and major developments as it prepares for the eagerly awaited official opening of its reimagined course in May next year.

The club, which proudly celebrated a series of member centenaries this year, has already opened its impressive new short-game area, with the
facility quickly become a favourite among members since opening this autumn.

With construction on the surrounding site progressing at pace, a new driving range is soon set to follow, with the opening scheduled for early spring as part of the club’s phased rollout.

Basingstoke is now officially open to visitors, marking a significant step in reconnecting the club with the wider golfing community.

Plans are already taking shape for golf days and society bookings in 2026, with high demand expected as word spreads about the club’s transformation.

In a further boost, the club has confirmed the appointment of Jacob Field as its new course manager, with Field’s arrival in February seen as a key piece of the club’s long-term vision as it positions itself as one of the south of England’s most exciting golfing destinations.

Meanwhile, Charlie Forster – a member of GB & Ireland’s Walker Cup team this year – continues his role as club ambassador, supporting Basingstoke through its new era and helping to showcase its facilities to golfers across the county and beyond.

The 22-year-old, who first joined the club as a junior, will by carrying the club’s name and branding on his golf bag at tournaments through next season.

With its official opening now on the horizon and an array of premium facilities falling into place, Basingstoke Golf Club looks set to make a major impact on golf in the southeast in the coming year.
