Big Mac attack? UFC 323 title challenger, Joshua Van, crushes fast food while in training camp – ‘Eating clean is boring’

One McFlurry please.

No. 1-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Flyweight Joshua Van challenges Alexandre Pantoja for the 125-pound title this weekend (Sat., Dec. 6, 2025) in the co-main event of UFC 323 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As most fans know, being a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter is brutal, and many insist the fight itself is the easy part compared to the grind of training camp two-a-days, three-a-days, sparring, recovery, and of course, strict dieting to survive the weight cut.

But Van? He’s making things a little harder on himself … by purposely eating fast food during camp. More specifically: McDonald’s.

“I be doing a lot of stuff that I shouldn’t be doing, but yeah, we’re back, ready to be a champion,” Van told Full Send MMA. “I like to f—k up sometimes, even with meals and things like that. I’ll be f—king up on purpose. I go to McDonald’s every morning, and then at dinner, I’ll eat clean. I get Big Macs for lunch, and then I get breakfast burritos, two hash browns, and orange juice — that’s my breakfast every day.”

Van doubled down on UFC 323 media day today (Weds., Dec. 3, 2025).

“I get tired of eating healthy stuff, man. It just looks too healthy,” Van said. “I train three times a day, so after my strength and conditioning, I’ve got 30 minutes to get to the other gym — and McDonald’s is in between. That’s why I always stop there for burritos and hash browns.”

Naturally, his coaches and teammates give him plenty of grief.

Maybe being 24 years old with a lightning-fast metabolism helps him cut the weight … but he might want to enjoy this phase while it lasts.

Between the daily McDonald’s runs and “not having a gameplan” for his title fight, “The Fearless” has his hands full at UFC 323. Still, he enters the bout riding a five-fight win streak with major momentum after a recent Fight of the Year contender.
