The fallout from NXT New Year’s Evil didn’t end when the cameras stopped rolling—and Blake Monroe made sure her side was heard.
Shortly after the show went off the air, Monroe took to social media and delivered a blunt response to the night’s events following her shocking attack on Thea Hail and subsequent removal from the arena.

That one-line post came after a night that spiraled quickly. Hail was scheduled to defend the NXT Women’s North American Championship against Monroe, with Jordynne Grace at ringside. The match never officially began. As Hail made her entrance, Monroe blindsided the champion, smashing her into the ring steps and then driving her head into the barricade hard enough to break it. Officials immediately swarmed the scene and called the match off.
Monroe was escorted from the building, and later in the show Ava banned her from the arena. Despite the attack, Hail insisted on defending her title later that night, issuing an open challenge while clearly shaken and injured.
The locker room emptied in response. Tatum Paxley charged out wielding a chainsaw, but Izzi Dame reached the ring first and claimed the opportunity. Hail fought through the damage from the earlier assault, but Dame capitalized, ultimately hitting Dame Over from the top rope to win the championship.
With the title changing hands and Monroe banned, her late-night post added fuel to an already volatile situation—suggesting she believes the attack was justified and the punishment wasn’t.
