Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo could be on the move. His agent, Alex Saratsis, confirmed discussions with Bucks ownership, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The Bucks, 10th in the Eastern Conference with a 10-13 record, are far from contenders. Giannis has always prioritized winning, and Milwaukee lacks the assets to surround him with an All-Star co-star. With no assets to acquire an All-Star or current co-star to ease the load, it’s time to look for potential destinations for the Bucks’ star.
The Heat finally land Giannis Antetokounmpo in proposed trade
The Heat, already top-four in the East, could become elite with Giannis. Pairing him with Bam Adebayo creates a dominant two-way frontcourt.
Miami’s offense ranks second in points in the paint (56.7). Adding Giannis strengthens that dominance, as he has led the league in Points In the Paint (PIP) numerous times. Add in Norman Powell, Andrew Wiggins, and Davion Mitchell, and the Heat field a potentially elite defensive lineup.
This group could be the most formidable defensive starting five in the league, excluding the Oklahoma City Thunder. Losing a young, rising big man like Ware would cost them in the long term, alongside losing an All-Star and floor spacer like Herro.
However, when you have a chance to get a top 20 player of all time in his prime, the gamble is worth it.
The Hawks become contenders by trading for Giannis Antetokounmpo
The Hawks hold valuable draft assets, including an unprotected 2026 pick from New Orleans in a projected historic class. With Antetokounmpo’s departure, the Hawks will desperately need a franchise cornerstone, and the Pelicans pick could be the consoling prize. Porzingis, Risacher, and Alexander-Walker add more talent for Milwaukee to build around.
On the Hawks’ side, retaining Trae Young as your point and having Antetokounmpo as a pick-and-roll partner is a coach’s dream. Young has led the league in assists twice (’22, ’25). Pairing him with the NBA’s best finisher would create a dynamic tandem that rivals anyone in the league.
Furthermore, retaining Jalen Johnson, who’s broken out as an All-Star, makes for a terrific All-Star trio. This would elevate Atlanta in the Eastern Conference, which currently lacks a clear front-runner.
The Knicks land Giannis in proposed Bucks blockbuster
The Knicks face trade limitations but can still assemble a blockbuster. Josh Hart is one of the best defensive and rebounding guards in the league. Anunoby is a quality two-way player who can space the floor and guard the opposing team’s best player.
Adding Yabusele provides the Bucks with another role player, while Kolek serves as a salary dump, making the trade possible. For the Knicks, Antetokounmpo pairs well with Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns to form a high-powered trio. Brunson provides scoring and pick-and-roll mastery, Towns stretches defenses, and Giannis attacks the rim relentlessly.
Despite New York’s loss of depth, the trio poses a formidable threat to the entire Eastern Conference and perhaps even the biggest threat to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
