Brazil overcame the USA to win the title at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games. Played in Asunción, Paraguay, As Yarinhas defeated the USA 17-7 in the tournament Final. It marked a North American double for Brazil after having defeated Canada 12-07 in the Semi Final.
Brazil opened their campaign on Saturday against Mexico. The 46-0 win was the first of two big victories. What followed was a 57-0 win over hosts Paraguay to set-up a showdown for top spot in the pool against the USA. The Eagles were 19-5 winners in that contest against Brazil.
Match day two on Sunday saw Brazil claiming the double over the North Americans to exact revenge on the USA for the day one defeat and also critically, claim the tournament title.
The title not only saw history being made; it also saw Brazil qualifying for the 2027 Pan American Games which will take place in Lima, Peru. The USA won gold at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile while Canada were Silver Medalists and Brazil won Bronze.
