The Lady Vols defeated Columbus State, 148-48, on Wednesday at Food City Center. The contest was an exhibition game ahead of regular-season play.
Tennessee set an exhibition game scoring record and totaled nine more points than last season’s 139-point regular season record versus North Carolina Central. Tennessee’s previous exhibition record of 144 points was against Dynamo Kiev on Nov. 5, 2000.

A 110-point regular-season margin of victory is a program record for the Lady Vols. Tennessee defeated Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, 136-26, on Nov. 29, 2002.
Against Columbus State, the Lady Vols totaled 76 bench points, 70 points in the paint, 71 points off turnovers, 38 second chance points and 49 fast break points.
Tennessee went on a 24-0 run during the first quarter and led Columbus State, 65-25, at halftime. The Lady Vols’ longest scoring run against an opponent last season was a 21-0 versus Samford and Texas A&M.
Mia Pauldo, Nya Robertson, Ruby Whitehorn and Jersey Wolfenbarger led Tennessee in scoring with 18 points each. Talaysia Cooper (17), Janiah Barker (15) and Jaida Civil (10) also scored 10-plus points.

Tennessee converted 50-of-92 field goal attempts, 13-of-31 three-point attempts and 35-of-52 free throw attempts.
The Lady Vols will open their regular season Nov. 4 against North Carolina State in the Ro Greensboro Invitational. The season opening matchup will be contested in Greensboro, North Carolina (4 p.m. EST, ESPN2).
